The Montreal Canadiens look for their second win in a row when they take on the Edmonton Oilers in this Canadian clash. Montreal finally put an end to a four game losing streak when they were able to squeeze by the New York Islanders 4-3 in overtime at home in Saturday’s noon start time. They’ll now play a back-to-back here when they welcome their compatriots to the Bell Centre as they attempt to win their 13th home game from 28 tries. It’s been a difficult season for Montreal, who sit bottom of the Atlantic division with a record of 21 wins, 27 losses and four overtime defeats for a total of 46 points. The Canadiens have struggled on both ends of the ice this season and rank in the bottom five in both goals scored per game and goals allowed per game.
Edmonton comes into this game with an eye on the top spot in the Pacific division as they can overtake the Vegas Golden Knights with a win here. The Oilers sit second in the division with a record of 30 wins, 18 losses and five overtime defeats, putting them on 65 points. The visitors come into this match after a 6-2 away win over Ottawa, a result which makes it now three wins from their last four games. Edmonton has really excelled away from home this season and have one of the best road records in the NHL.
