With one game remaining, both Montenegro and Lithuania have clinched their places in the second round of the 2023 FIBA World Basketball Cup. Group D sees Lithuania top of the group, ahead of their opponents in this match after both countries have beaten Egypt and Mexico in their two opening matches. Now they meet to decide who finishes top and it's important to get more points to carry through to the next round. Lithuania are ranked eighth in the world and that's ten places above Montenegro. They began this group with a 26 point win over Egypt winning three of the four quarters. Top scorer for Lithuania was Normantis with 18 points. Lithuania were even more dominant in their second match with a 30 point win over Mexico. Half of that lead came in the first quarter and they were never in trouble in that match. This will be tougher of course but we believe they can get the win.

Montenegro will be relying on Nikola Vucevic for points in this match against Lithuania. The Chicago Bulls player has scored 43 points in his two matches in this World Cup, including 27 against Mexico. Lithuania are yet to lose a quarter in this tournament but have drawn two of them. They come into this match with a points difference of +35 and thats 21 less than Montenegro. Their coach hasn't been totally satisfied with their performances so far in this group. We go for more dissatisfaction as Lithuania can get the win to top the group.
