Mirra Andreeva vs Elina Avanesyan Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Iasi Open

Top seed Mirra Andreeva will face fifth seed Elina Avanesyan in an all-Russian final at the UniCredit Iasi Open. It promises to be an exciting match between two in-form compatriots. Let’s now look at our prediction for this potential cracker on the clay courts!

Having progressed serenely with straight-set victories over her first three opponents in Iasi, Mirra Andreeva found the going tougher in her semi-final with Olga Danilovic. Her Serbian opponent took the opening set before Andreeva levelled matters and then clinched victory in a tie-break after a tense third set. 

It was the first time Andreeva had been behind in a match in the tournament, but she showed plenty of grit and fighting spirit to claim the victory and a place in the final. 

Fifth seed Elina Avanesyan has also been taken to three sets just once on her journey through the rounds in Iasi. Her semi-final was less taxing than her opponents as she defeated Chloe Paquet in straight sets. 

This will be the second meeting between the two players. Their other meeting was in April this year on clay in Rouen, and Andreeva won in straight sets in the second round.

Andreeva will start as the bookmakers' favourite and needs a tournament victory. Despite superb form and a great winning percentage, her last tournament victory came in Bellinzona in April 2023, her second tournament win of that month. It has been over a year since she last tasted tournament success. 

However, Avanesyan has not won a tournament since May of 2023, which means both ladies should be hungry for success when they face off in the final in Iasi!
