Miomir Kecmanovic has progressed to his first tour semi-final in two years. Last season, he was unable to advance past the quarter-finals and lost three such ties.

The Serbian, who has won three of four matches this season, defeated the qualifier Benjamin Bonzi to advance to the last four. Now up four places to 51st in the live ranking, Kecmanovic defeated Korda in straight sets in Miami three years ago.

Sebastian Korda made his season debut with a 2-0 victory over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round. It was a major result for the American who was playing his first match since the US Open.

A recurring elbow injury put an abrupt end to his 2024 season but he seems to be fully fit. Korda was granted a walkover in the quarter-finals by Thanasi Kokkinakis.

This ensured that his record of never failing to make it to at least the semi-finals here is maintained. Korda, a finalist here in 2023, is in his third appearance in Adelaide.

The world number 22 has contested 16 tour semi-finals since 2021 and has won half.
