Miomir Kecmanovic vs Lorenzo Musetti Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Monte Carlo Masters

Miomir Kecmanovic and Lorenzo Musetti will get their ATP Monte Carlo Masters campaign underway this week when the pair meet in the opening round on Tuesday afternoon. Ranked 21st in the world, Musetti has found it difficult to rekindle the type of form he showed for his country at the United Cup in January, where he played a key role in helping Italy finish runners-up in that tournament. Since then, it’s been downhill for the Italian, following up with first-round exits at the Australian Open, in Rio, Santiago, and most recently at the Miami Masters last month. Musetti had an excellent record of 21-7 on the clay surface last year, but it’s been a different story in 2023, with a record of just 2-4 so far. In February, Musetti played three tournaments on clay but failed to make it past the first round in two of those tournaments while bowing out in the second round of the other. Musetti started off promisingly in Marrakech last week, beating Hugo Gaston in straight sets in his opening match but didn’t have enough to overcome Alexandre Muller in the following round. Coming up against an in-form opponent here, Musetti may find it difficult to improve his record of 6-8 for the year in this one.

Kecmanovic has improved consistently this year and will come into this tournament in an excellent mood following a solid performance last week in Estoril. The Serbian has slipped from his peak rank of 27th in January this year to 40th, though a good run here in Monte Carlo will certainly improve that rank in the upcoming weeks. Kecmanovic has earned two runners-up trophies this year, the first of which came at Delray Beach, where he put up a strong fight in the second set but eventually lost to Taylor Fritz in three sets. Kecmanovic also had a very good record of 15-8 on clay courts last year and has started this year in the same vein, with a record of 4-1, after his second final appearance of the year last week in Estoril. The Serbian did not drop a single set in his first four matches in Estoril, overcoming the likes of Luca Nardi, Jurji Rodionov, and Bernabe Zapata Miralles before eventually coming up short against the formidable Casper Ruud in the final match. Kecmanovic has lost once in the past to this opponent on the hard court but will be confident that he can come out victorious this time around on his favored surface.
