Eighth seed Miomir Kecmanovic and unseeded Gregoire Barrere will on Thursday meet in the Eastbourne quarterfinals. A semifinal showdown with either second seed Tommy Paul or the unseeded J.J Wolf awaits the winner. Miomir Kecmanovic has been in sublime form at Devonshire Park where he has won his two matches without dropping a set. In the previous round, he defeated Aleksandar Vukic. This was his 17th win of the season and saw him tie his win-loss record for the campaign. Despite his struggles, Kecmanovic has made it to two tournament finals this year. The Serb isn’t a strong performer on grass and currently has lost more matches than he has won on the surface in his career. Advancing to this round has seen him move up one place to 40th in the live ranking.

Gregoire Barrere is also up one place in the live ranking to number 56. To book this match with Kecmanovic, he battled for slightly over two hours to defeat Nicolas Jarry 2-1. This was the second match in Eastbourne that he dropped a set. In the first round, he was forced to come from a set down to win against Emil Ruusuvuori. The match lasted close to three hours. He will hope that fatigue doesn’t hinder him from making the semifinals. Barrere has performed a bit better than Kecmanovic this season. He has won 24 of the 42 matches he has played with three of those victories coming on grass. The Frenchman has also won one title this season, which was in Quimper in the Challenger circuit in January.
