On Thursday, the Minnesota Timberwolves will welcome the Sacramento Kings to the Target Center for a crucial NBA Western Conference matchup. The Timberwolves (8-9) are 11th in the conference standings while the Kings (8-10) are right behind them in 12th place. Check out our match prediction below. 

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been way below the form we saw from them last season, and suffered their sixth defeat in eight to the Rockets 117-111 in overtime last night.

Anthony Edwards got 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Julius Randle contributed 21 points, though the team managed just 42% shooting from the field and made nine of 38 from the three-point line. 

The Timberwolves are averaging 112.6 points per game this season (17th), while allowing 111.1 points per game (11th overall).

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have not been great either recently and are now on a four-match losing streak after a heavy 130-109 defeat to the high-flying Thunder on Tuesday. 

DeMar DeRozan notched up 30 points in the defeat, but OKC’s offence, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, was too hot to handle and outscored Sacramento by 20 points in the second half. 

The Kings have now dropped to 13th in the scoring charts, averaging 114.1 points per game, while on defence they are down to 19th place, allowing 113.8 PPG.
