Minnesota Timberwolves vs Phoenix Suns Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King in NBA Predictions
The third seed Minnesota Timberwolves and the sixth seed Phoenix Suns face off for game two of the Western Conference first round. The Timberwolves secured a 105-97 victory in game one to take a 1-0 series lead. They’ll now look to go up 2-0 in the second consecutive game in front of their home fans before the series heads to Phoenix for games three and four. Following their 125-106 defeat to the Suns to conclude the regular season, the Timberwolves made the necessary adjustments when they met for the series opener six days later. Minnesota was able to lock up the Suns from three-point range as they held Booker, Durant and company to just 9/28 shooting from deep. Defensive player of the year frontrunner Rudy Gobert was dominant on the glass with 16 rebounds, leading the way for his TWolves team to out-rebound the Suns 52 to 28. The hosts have now won four of their last six overall and have just tallied their 31st home win of the season.
Phoenix saw their three-game winning streak come to an end in the game one loss as they were held to under 100 points for the third time in the last seven games. The Suns finished the regular season strong with seven wins from their last 10, which included two wins over Minnesota. In fact, the Suns were quite successful against the Timberwolves in the regular season, winning all three of their matchups. However, the playoffs are a different beast and it’s now up to them to come up with a much-improved performance in game two. Phoenix simply has to be better on the boards to stand a chance at evening this series up at 1-1. No one can question the visitors’ scoring prowess, though, as they boast arguably the most talented big-three in the league with KD, Booker and Beal.
