The Minnesota Timberwolves will next welcome the New Orleans Pelicans for the final NBA regular season meeting between them this season. Minnesota leads the standings in the Western Conference while the Pelicans are five games behind them in sixth place. The Timberwolves have won two of the three meetings with the Pelicans this season. A third win here will see them claim the series. Chris Finch’s men have been one of the form teams this season. But have stuttered recently and have lost twice in their last four outings. They were defeated last time out 112-106 in New York and will be eager to get back to winning ways. Having not lost back-to-back games this season coupled with their impeccable form at home should have them confident of getting the job done. Minnesota, who will be without Jaylen Clark, has compiled a 14-1 record at Target Centre.

The Pelicans are in good form at the moment and this will have them confident of splitting this series. Willie Green’s men, who won the last time against the Timberwolves, have won three straight matches. All three games have come at home with the latest being a 112-85 victory over the Nets. The win took their record to 20-14. Against fellow West teams, the Pels have struggled and have a 13-12 record in the conference. Seven players scored in double figures against the Nets but none scored more than 16 points. Matt Ryan will miss this game while Trey Murphy III is ‘Questionable’. The two have missed considerable game time this season and are valuable offensive additions. New Orleans is averaging 115.9 points a game and this is bound to be tested by Minnesota’s number one ranked defence.
