The Target Center will come to life on Friday night when the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers face off in Game 3 of their NBA Playoff series. The series is tied at 1-1 with the Timberwolves winning Game 1, while the Lakers struck back Tuesday. Check out our match prediction below. 

The first two games of this series in Los Angeles almost perfectly summed up what the Minnesota Timberwolves have been like this season - brilliant one day and poor the next. 

After proving almost unstoppable on offence in Game 1, Game 2 was in stark contrast, with only Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle finishing with double-digits, while as a team they could only muster 85 points. 

Aside from scoring, the Timberwolves also lost the board battle despite having Randle and Gobert in the paint, while their ball movement was also subpar, managing just 14 assists to the Lakers' 23. 

However, while Minnesota certainly underperformed in Game 2, let’s not take away any credit from Los Angeles, who evidently made tactical changes on Tuesday, and they worked like a charm. 

The most notable improvements came on their defensive end, where they looked much more aggressive and limited their opponents to just 38% from the field and five of 25 from the three-point line. 

As for their offence, Luka Doncic continues to deliver jaw-dropping performances, and when he is being backed up by LeBron James, as in the last match, it’s difficult for any team to keep pace.
