The Minnesota Timberwolves will be at home to welcome the Dallas Mavericks for the two’s final NBA regular season matchup. They top the standings in the Western Conference at present while the Mavericks are seven games behind in seventh place. The Timberwolves are coming off a morale-boosting 107-101 victory over fellow West highflyers Oklahoma. It was their 33rd victory of the season and allowed them to get right back to the summit in the West. Chris Finch’s men have now won three of their last four games. They aren’t a dominant offensive team but what they lack in attack they have made up for in defence. The Timberwolves are holding teams to 107.4 points a game which is the best record in the league. They will seek another dominant defensive showing in their bid to secure this season's series with Dallas. Minnesota is 2-1 over Dallas this season. Mike Conley is listed as ‘Questionable’ for this game.

The Mavericks are also coming off of a win. Jason Kidd’s men recorded a 131-129 victory over the visiting Orlando Magic to move to five games above .500. It was only their second victory in the last six outings. Dallas has been battling with a lack of consistency and injuries have played a big part. For this trip to Minneapolis, they will be without both their leading scorers. Luka Doncic has been ruled out with an ankle issue while Kyrie Irving isn’t back from an injured thumb. The two are averaging at least 25 points each with Luka putting up 34.7 a night. Dereck Lively II has also been ruled out for this game. Dante Exum and Derrick Jones Jr. could join the trio on the sidelines as they are doubtful to play. Dallas is averaging 118.9 points but they could shoot less than that here with Doncic and Irving out. The Mavs won 115-108 earlier this month against the Timberwolves.
