Milwaukee Bucks vs Portland Trail Blazers Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
The Portland Trail Blazers kick off a four game road trip with a tough matchup against the 2020/21 NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks when the two teams meet at the Fiserv Forum on Monday. The Blazers disappointingly closed out a three game home stand with back-to-back losses and come into this game off the back of three losses in their last four games. They’ve now seen their record slip to 10-6 on the season which has them sitting third in the Western Conference and two games behind the first-place Jazz at 12-6. The Bucks are also struggling lately and come into this one with only one win in their last four games. Milwaukee are 11-4 on the season, good for second in the East.

Milwaukee Bucks - Portland Trail Blazers: Form Analysis
After a surprising 9-3 start to the season, Portland has come back down to Earth in the past week. The Blazers were able to defeat the Spurs at the Moda Center but would then follow that up with two consecutive losses including their most recent game, a 118-113 defeat to the Jazz. Portland have been one of the better road teams in the league so far this year with a 6-2 away record. Milwaukee suffered a 110-102 loss to the 76ers in their last game and will be hoping that a return to their home arena can snap them out of their current funk. The Bucks have lost three of their last four but have an impressive home record of 8-1 on the year.

Milwaukee Bucks & Portland Trail Blazers Squad Analysis
The big news for this clash is that the Trail Blazers all-pro point guard Damian Lillard will miss out here after re-injuring his calf against the Jazz on Saturday. The injury, which was recently upgraded to a grade 1 calf strain, is set to keep the 32-year-old on the sidelines for the next few games and the Blazers are sure to miss Lillard’s 27.6 points per game contribution. On the other side, the Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo has now strung together three consecutive starts since missing a few games due to injury. The two-time league MVP is averaging 29.5 points per contest but has seen his shooting % drop by a full five points while he is managing just 43% from the free throw line in his past three games.

Our Milwaukee Bucks vs Portland Trail Blazers Prediction
We’re going to back the Bucks to get the win and cover the -9 point spread as our bet for this one. Lillard of course is a big miss for the visitors and while Portland has been strong on the road this season, they are faced with a difficult situation here. Milwaukee will be fired up for this game as they look to kick off their four game home stand with a strong performance. We’ve seen the Bucks, and Giannis, respond in situations like this in previous seasons with dominant performances and we are expecting a similar type of outcome here. Back the hosts to get the double-digit win.
