The final two teams to make their debuts in the 2023/24 NBA season sees the Milwaukee Bucks hosting the Philadelphia 76ers. There has been plenty of news in the offseason regarding these two teams, largely for different reasons. The Bucks made a blockbuster trade to acquire Damian Lillard from the Blazers and thus give Giannis a true second superstar teammate. The 76ers, meanwhile, have been dealing with the drama caused by former MVP James Harden refusing to show up to team practices.

The Bucks finished top of the East last season with a record of 58 wins and 24 losses. However, the 2020/21 NBA champions would eventually be bounced out of the playoffs in the first round by the eighth-seed Miami Heat. The massive disappointment led to the front office making a huge move to shake up the roster as they dealt Jrue Holiday, a first-round pick and a number of swap picks in a three-team deal. In return, the Bucks received seven-time All-NBA point guard Damian Lillard who averaged a career-high 32.2 points last season at 32-years-old. Milwaukee are now co-favorites along with the Celtics to win the NBA title.

As for the 76ers, they have a huge problem to deal with in the form of James Harden. There's a strong possibility that the 10-time All-Star never suits up for Philly again as he trys to force a move away from yet another team. The Sixers finished third in the Eastern Conference last season with a record of 54 wins and 28 losses, just four games behind the top-seeded Bucks. While they swept the Nets in the first-round of the playoffs, they would then be eliminated in the second round by the Celtics in seven games. Philadelphia made a number of moves in the offseason in an attempt to bolster their squad around MVP Joel Embiid. Pat Beverely, Kelly Oubre, Danny Green and Mo Bamba were the new additions.
