The defending champion Milwaukee Bucks take on one of the favorites for the NBA title this year in the Golden State Warriors for the match of the night. The Warriors defensive anchor and chief distributor Draymond Green was sorely missed in their loss to the Grizzlies and it looks likely that he will be out for the next few games as well. With the return of All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson, Dubs fans are surely itching to see their big-three all on the court together for the first time in two years. The Warriors hold the second best record in the NBA with 30 wins and 10 losses, a record they amassed without Klay, so the return of one of the greatest shooters of all time should put the rest of the league on notice. The Bucks have been in a bit of a funk lately, only winning one of their last five games after ripping off six straight wins at the end of December. Milwaukee are still very much in contention for the Eastern Conference crown, sitting on a record of 26 wins and 17 losses, trailing the first place Bulls by 3.5 games.

The Bucks will be without starting point guard Jrue Holiday, a big miss given the quality of his perimeter defending and going up against one of the best backcourts in NBA history in Steph and Klay. However, the absence of Draymond Green on the other end is a devastating loss. Golden State is 40-38 all-time without Draymond, compared to 464-204 when he’s available. A remarkable difference and it shows just how important he has been over the years. Even though his individual statistics don’t jump off the page, he truly operates as the quarterback of the defense. The Warriors have looked almost unbeatable at home, going 18-2, but have had their struggles on the road posting a 12-7 record. Milwaukee should be able to capitalize on their strong play at home and add another win to their 13-7 record at Fiserv Forum.
