A big Eastern Conference clash is on deck in tonight’s NBA slate when the Milwaukee Bucks host the Boston Celtics at the Fiserv Forum. This matchup sees two of the East’s elite teams who could well meet each other in the later rounds of the playoffs. The Bucks currently hold the third seed and trail the second seed Celtics by just half a game. Milwaukee has a record of 49-30 and were able to bounce back after a home loss to the Mavericks with a big 127-106 away win against a good Bulls team. The Celtics are coming off a big win of their own against the same team, as they recorded a comfortable 117-94 away win against Chicago. Boston holds a record of 50-30 and have just two games remaining in the regular season before the playoffs start.

This is an interesting situational spot for these two sides. There is an extremely tight race for the second seed with Milwuakee, Boston and Philadelphia all with almost identical records. However, the final seeding for the three teams might not factor too heavily in the coaches decisions down the stretch as each team would probably be comfortable playing either the fifth seed Raptors, sixth seed Bulls and seventh seed Cavs. They would most definitely want to avoid Brooklyn, who look set for the play-in game and have a chance to get the eighth seed. An important factor in this matchup is that this is the second game of a back-to-back for the Celtics and there is a possibility that some players are rested. If the Celtics do opt to rest one, or both, of their stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown then there would be a significant amount of value on the Bucks to win this one comfortably with the rest advantage.
