Sixteenth seed Tommy Paul will on Thursday face world number 840 Milos Raonic in the second round at Wimbledon. The winner here will proceed to play unseeded Jiri Lehecka or 18th seed Francisco Cerundolo. Milos Raonic is making his first appearance at Wimbledon since 2019. The Canadian has for the last two years been sidelined with injury and returned to the tour in June. He has played three matches, all on grass, and has won twice. His latest victory saw him defeat the qualifier Dennis Novak in four sets to book this round. Raonic is a former finalist at Wimbledon and is a strong performer on grass with a 52-23 career record on the surface. He won the only other encounter with Paul in 2021 in Acapulco and will hope for the same outcome here.

Tommy Paul was dominant in his opening-round straight-sets victory over the qualifier Shintaro Mochizuki. After a combative first set that ended 7-5, Paul turned up the ante and dropped four games the rest of the match. He has now won seven of the 10 matches he has played on grass taking his season record to 27-15. The American has played three finals this year with one being on grass. He is however yet to add to his only Singles tour crown. Paul made it to the semifinals in Melbourne earlier this year to record his best finish at a Grand Slam. His best-ever result at the All England Club was achieved last season when he made it to the fourth round. He is currently ranked 15th in the ATP which is a career high ranking for him.
