Second seed Casper Ruud will continue with his Dallas Open campaign when he faces off with the qualifier Michael Mmoh in the second round. The winner of their first tour encounter will play Frances Tiafoe or Yoshihito Nishioka in the quarter-finals. Below is our prediction for this match. 

Michael Mmoh is having a positive start to his return to competitive action following a lengthy absence due to injury. The American had been out since April when he made his return at the Cleveland Challenger. 

He has played only on indoor surfaces this year, compiling a 4-1 record. Mmoh, who is on a three-match winning run, defeated Roberto Carballes Baena via a decider in the first round. 

The former world number 81 has now moved up a massive 95 places in the live ranking to 327th.

Casper Ruud also needed a decider to get past his opening-round tie. The Norwegian, who is debuting in Dallas, was frustrated by lucky loser James Duckworth with their showdown going past the two-hour mark. 

That was the world number five’s sixth victory in seven outings this season. He is unbeaten on indoor surfaces, with three wins. Ruud had a disappointing Australian Open campaign, losing in the second round.
