Two division leaders clash as Miami Heat host Utah Jazz. Miami are top of the Eastern Conference Southeast division with a 6-2 record and the visitors top the Western Conference Northwest division, having lost only one of their eight games. Miami are second overall in the Eastern Conference, with only the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of them. The Heat had won five matches in a row before losing to Boston in their most recent match. Each of those wins had been by at least 13 points.

Utah Jazz top the Western Conference with their 7-1 season record. The only side to beat them this season are Chicago who beat them by eight points on October 30. They come into this game having won their last three in a row. The most recent saw them win at Atlanta by 18 points but this is going to be tougher for them. Miami have the best defence in the NBA and at home, their offensive play will cause plenty of problems for their visitors.
