Miami Heat vs Phoenix Suns Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
A massive clash between the NBA’s top seeded teams takes place when the Phoenix Suns head to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat. The 52-13 Suns, sporting the best record in the NBA won’t have to travel far as they just defeated the Orlando Magic 102-99 on Tuesday. They will be playing a back to back here which should play into the hosts advantage. Miami have been a stellar home team for a while now, taking full advantage of the effect that the renowned nightlife can have on their opponents. The Heat boast a 23-7 home record, one of the best in the league, and an overall record of 42-22 - good for the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. They’ll be looking to extend their three game winning streak after knocking off the Nets, Sixers and their most recent victory, a 123-106 win against the Houston Rockets.
The main storyline in this match is the absence of Phoenix’s best two players - guards Devin Booker and Chris Paul. The future hall-of-famer Paul has been out since the all-star break with a thumb injury, while young superstar Booker has missed the last four games due to health and safety protocols. Booker is expected back soon although the line for this game makes it pretty clear that he won’t be suiting up for this one. The Heat come in as significant favorites, which is understandable considering the situational spot both teams find themselves in. Miami’s big three of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro are all healthy and Herro, in particular, has been playing phenomenal basketball recently. The third-year University of Kentucky product has been averaging 25.8 points per game over his last seven games and provides an instant scoring boost playing in that sixth man role. While Phoenix have shown heart and grit to win a few games without their two stars, this is a tough spot they find themselves in. Miami should be able to extend their winning streak here with a comfortable win.
