Miami Heat vs Golden State Warriors Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
NBA action on Tuesday sees an East vs West matchup when the Miami Heat host the Golden State Warriors at the American Airlines Arena in South Beach. It’s been a disappointing start to the season for both of these squads, each sitting with a below .500 record seven games into the 2022/23 campaign. Miami is 2-5 and have lost the last two games in a row after a 119-113 loss to the Kings. Golden State is also looking to put an end to a two game losing streak of their own after an overtime loss to the Hornets was followed up by a 128-114 loss to the Pistons. The Warriors look to be dealing with the common “championship hangover” as the team sits on a 3-4 record which puts them 11th in the West.

Miami Heat - Golden State Warriors: Form Analysis
These two teams faced off only a few days ago with the Warriors winning that matchup 123-110 in San Francisco on October 28th. They’ll now look to repeat that result but will have to deal with the historically strong home court advantage that the Heat possess. The defending champions are 0-3 as the away team so far this year and are in the midst of a five game road trip, the trip to Miami being the third. The Warriors were 22-19 as the away team in last season’s campaign which suggests they might still struggle before returning back home on November 8th. Miami has been struggling on both sides of the court and they’ll need to tighten things up if they are to return to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Miami Heat & Golden State Warriors Squad Analysis
The Heat have not looked good on either side of the ball to start the season despite having big name players such as Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Kyle Lowry. The result is a team that is shooting just 45% from the field and ranks 26th in points per game at 108.0. However, this could be just the matchup they needed to rediscover their scoring touch as the Warriors have shown little signs of life on the defensive side of the ball this season. Golden State is allowing the second most points in the entire NBA at 122.0 per game, with only the Nets having a worse defensive record.
Miami Heat - Golden State Warriors Key Points
- Miami’s usually lockdown defense has not started the year well as the Heat rank 19th in terms of defensive rating.
- Golden State ranks third in the NBA in scoring at 118.7 points per game and 29th in opponent points against at 122.0
- Six of the Warrior’s seven games have gone over the posted total for the Warriors this year, including the game these two teams played just four days ago.

Our Miami Heat vs Golden State Warriors Prediction
We’re going to back over 226.5 points to be scored as our bet for this game. The Warriors continue their trend of playing high-level basketball on the offensive side of the ball but being incapable of stopping teams on the defensive side. This certainly makes for some entertaining games but it will be the type of thing that drives head coach Steve Kerr crazy. With Miami’s defense starting slow as well, this game has the recipe for another high-scoring affair in what should be a fun one to watch.
