Miami Heat are 3-1 for the new NBA season and host the Charlotte Hornets. Their opponents are 4-1 and top of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference, with Miami in third place. The Heat are fifth in the overall Eastern Conference table with Charlotte a couple of places higher. Miami have got off to a good start in their new FTX Arena and have already won two home games against Milwaukee and Orlando. Their only loss this season has been an 11 point loss at Indiana. Their last two games have been won and by a combined winning margin of 30 points.

It's been a good start for the Hornets who haven't made it into postseason since 2016. Preseason didn't go well with three out of four games lost, that includes a one point loss to Miami. It got better when the new season began with four wins and only Boston have been able to beat them. Wins have come against Indiana, Cleveland, Brooklyn and Orlando. This is going to be one of the matches of the season so far. Miami were impressive in their last win over Brooklyn, though not so hot at scoring three-pointers. If that can improve and be accompanied by another strong defensive performance, they can get the win over Charlotte.
