We know that the LA Lakers will be in the 2020 NBA Final but who will their opponents be?  Going into this sixth match of the Eastern Conference final, Miami Heat have a 3-2 lead over the Boston Celtics. Just one more win for Miami will take them into the final, for Boston though they have to win the last two. In fact, the task facing the Celtics has been to win the last three of this best-of-seven series.  The Heat got off to a great start by winning the first two matches to take a dominant lead. However, the Celtics had a strong lead in both of those matches and it could easily have been 2-0 to Boston. They held onto their lead in the third match but then lost the fourth to put themselves in a real hole. Three straight wins or they won't be in the final.

The fifth match was another topsy-turvy affair with Miami seven points ahead at half-time. However, it was the Celtics who made the comeback this time. They won the third quarter 41-25 to storm into the lead and added another four points to their lead in the final quarter to win 121-108. That margin of victory was the highest seen in the conference final to date, three of the previous games being won by five or less points. Jayson Tatum top scored for the Celtics with 31 points, more important was reducing the contributions made by Herro and Adabeyo. If those two Miami players can again be kept under reasonable control, then the Celtics can build on that win and take this final into a deciding match.
