Bolts vs San Miguel Beermen Prediction & Betting Tips - PBA, Philippine Cup

The five-time defending champion San Miguel Beermen will have their perfect do-or-die matches record on the line as they take on Meralco Bolts in the decider of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinal. Meralco beat San Miguel 78-71 in the first match but since they finished outside the top-four, the Bolts are expected to beat San Miguel twice over to win the quarter-final.

Meralco finished the league phase with a 7-4 win-loss record which tied them with third place along with four other teams. However, they could only finish fifth which meant they had to win twice in the quarters to make it to the last four. However, the Bolts have some positive news coming out of their recent form. Meralco have won five of their last six matches and seven of their last nine. They would be keen to complete the surprise against San Miguel and feel the momentum is with them.

San Miguel finished top of the league season with an 8-3 win-loss record. However, they arrive in this match with three losses in their last five matches. Additionally, San Miguel have lost five of their last seven matches against Meralco including the first match of this quarterfinal. However, they have a 10-0 win-loss record in do-or-die matches during their five-year winning run in the Philippines Cup. Concerns over losing that record are genuine, as they are without key personnel. Already without June Mar Farjado and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser before entering the PBA bubble, San Miguel lost Terrence Romeo early in the elimination round.
