Memphis Grizzlies vs Phoenix Suns Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
Two of the Western Conference’s top teams face off when the Memphis Grizzlies host the Phoenix Suns at the FedExForum for this Tuesday night NBA clash. The Grizzlies are involved in a tight race for the top spot in the West as they currently sit third with 20 wins and 12 losses but trail the top-seeded Nuggets by just a game in the standings. Memphis are coming off a 123-109 loss to the Warriors on Christmas Day, a result which has now made it three losses from the last four games for last season’s Western Conference semi-finalists. Despite the dip in form, the Grizzlies have still been on a strong run overall with seven wins from their last 10 games. Memphis also boasts one of the league’s best home records with 13 wins from their 15 outings at the FedExForum.
Standing in their way for this one is a Phoenix team that has seemingly regressed from the 64 win team that finished with the NBA’s best record last season. The current iteration of the Suns have a record of just 19 wins and 15 losses, almost matching last season’s regular season loss total of 18 games despite not even reaching the halfway point of the season yet. Their record places them fifth in the West although they still only find themselves three games back from the top spot as the Western Conference in general looks to be wide open this year. The Suns are coming off a 128-125 overtime loss to the top-seeded Nuggets on Christmas Day making it three consecutive losses and seven losses from the last 10 games.
The big news ahead of this clash is Phoenix’s injury problems as a number of key players are expected to miss out on this key clash. Star Devin Booker is the biggest name on the Suns injury list after the team’s leading scorer clearly tried to force himself back too early for the Christmas Day game which resulted in him only playing four total minutes. He joins Cam Payne, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and Landry Shamet as the other players that will miss out on this game.

Our Memphis Grizzlies vs Phoenix Suns Prediction
This is a difficult spot for the Suns for a multitude of reasons. Primarily, the injuries. Last season’s top-seeded team will be without offensive catalyst Devin Booker who carries so much of Phoenix’s attacking threat. Coming up against arguably the league’s best defense in the Grizzlies and it’s difficult to imagine where the majority of this Suns offensive will come from, especially when considering injuries toa number of important role players as well. Combined with the fact that this is Phoenix’s second consecutive road game and will have to stop a Memphis team that has been near perfect on home court this season, it’s hard to imagine this playing out in any way other than a convincing home win. Our prediction for the Memphis Grizzlies vs Phoenix Suns is Grizzlies -7.
