The Memphis Grizzlies look to continue their 10 game winning streak as they host the ninth place Minnesota TimberWolves at the FedExForum in Memphis. This young Grizzlies side, led by superstar point guard Ja Morant, are the hottest team in the NBA and currently sit fourth in the West with a 29-14 record. Their last game was a huge home win over the second place Warriors 116-108 although it’s important to note that Golden State was without Draymond Green. Still though, this Grizzlies team is young and hungry and they are looking like they will be a force to be reckoned with come playoff time. They take on a TWolves team who have definitely made some progress this season and have an exciting young core of Russell, Anthony-Towns and Edwards. They will be looking to make the playoffs for the first time in four years and currently have a record of 20-21, trailing the 8th seed Clippers by half a game. 

Minnesota have been on a good run themselves, winning four of their last five games and aren’t dealing with any injury problems so we should see a competitive game here. Both teams come into this one with a full day of rest but this is a potential let-down spot for Memphis. Coming off an emotional win against one of the favorites to win the NBA championship in the Warriors and hitting the 10 game winning mark, it’s important they don’t lose focus and underestimate their opponents. All-Star Karl Anthony-Towns is back after missing six games and the team is 3-1 since his return. The skilled big man is a legitimate threat to score 40 on any given night and when he’s locked in Minnesota is a tough team to beat. Russell provides consistent play at the point and second year shooting guard Anthony Edwards looks like a future star. This might be a closer game than it appears at first glance between two young teams with bright futures.
