The Dallas Mavericks head to the FedEx Forum to take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Play-In Tournament on Friday night. The winner between the Grizz and Mavs will claim the eighth seed and face the OKC Thunder in the first round of the Playoffs. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

After a poor end to the regular season, which saw them fall into the Play-In tournament, it’s now do-or-die for the Memphis Grizzlies after losing to the Warriors 121-116 on Tuesday night. 

Memphis won the series against this opponent 3-1, with the most recent matchup coming less than a week ago on April 13, when they stomped the Mavs 132-97 at this venue. 

However, the Grizz could be in a spot of bother here, as Ja Morant turned his ankle against the Warriors and is listed as questionable for this one. Brandon Clarke, Jaylen Wells and Zyon Pullin are out. 

Meanwhile, despite their injury issues and the shocking trade of the franchise's best player, the Dallas Mavericks are still alive, having defied the odds to beat the Kings 120-106 on Tuesday.

In their defence, while Dallas did lose the series, Anthony Davis did not feature in any of those games, while last week’s defeat to the Grizz was a dead rubber, and both teams made wholesale changes.

Davis is available for this match, and the contest against Zach Edey could be a defining one. The Mavs will be without the injured Kyrie Irving and Oliver-Maxence Prosper.
