We’re down to the final day in the 2024/25 NBA regular season with the Memphis Grizzlies taking on the Dallas Mavericks. The Grizz are currently sitting eighth in the West standings with a 47-34 record while the Mavs are 10th at 39-42. Check out our match prediction!
The extreme congestion of the Western Conference means that a number of teams’ playoff seeding will be decided on the final day. The Grizzlies are one of them, although they are guaranteed to be in the play-in tournament after losing 117-109 at home to the Nuggets on Friday.
It was the second loss in a row for Memphis at a time where they desperately needed a win. The result is the Grizzlies needing to win as well as needing a Minnesota loss in order to secure home court advantage in the play-in with the seventh seed.
As for the Mavericks, they’re fighting for the ninth seed on the final day, which they would claim with a win combined with a Kings loss. Dallas has the same record as Sacramento but lost the head-to-head battle between the two.
The Mavs put an end to a three-game losing streak on Friday with a 124-102 road win over the Raptors. It was only their second victory in the last six appearances for the visitors.
