A Western Conference clash in the NBA on Saturday sees the Memphis Grizzlies hosting the Dallas Mavericks at the FedExForum. The Grizzlies are coming off a big 131-110 home win over the Warriors on Thursday, snapping a three game losing streak. The result puts them tied for second in the West with the surprise Sacramento Kings with a record of 39 wins and 26 losses. The Grizzlies now trail the first-place Nuggets by six games as they prepare for a double-header against the Mavs, the first game being in Memphis followed by a trip to Dallas on Monday. Star point guard Ja Morant is still unavailable as he continues to serve his suspension. Memphis got its first win without Morant since his unavailability with a return to the FedExForum seemingly being just what the team needed. The Grizzlies have now won a dominant 27 of their 32 games at home compared to just 12 of 33 away trips.

The Mavericks will be dealing with a loss of a star player as well as league second leading scorer Luka Doncic did not travel to Memphis as he deals with a left thigh injury. His absence is a huge blow to Dallas’ chances in this game as Doncic is pouring in an impressive 33 points a game on average this season while pulling down 8.6 rebound and dishing out 8 assists. However, even with Doncic in the lineup, the Mavs have been struggling as of late. They’ve been unable to get into a solid rhythm and have not won back-to-back games since February 10th. Dallas lost its last game 113-106 away from home to the Pelicans and as they have now dropped seven of the last 10 games. The loss puts them sixth in the West with a record of 34 wins and 33 losses. They’ll have to lean on Kyrie Irving to get them over the line here but the Mavericks are only 5-6 with Irving in the starting lineup this season.
