Second seed Daniil Medvedev and the qualifier Mattia Bellucci will play each other in the second round in Rotterdam. The winner will then play Stefanos Tsitsipas, Matteo Berrettini or Tallon Griekspoor in the quarter-finals. Below is our prediction for this match.

Bellucci defeated wildcard Mees Rottgering by the loss of five games in the first round. He has now won three straight matches without giving up a set.

Bellucci, who has registered four of his five victories this year on indoor hard courts, has moved up 11 places in the live ranking. He is now ranked 81st which is a new career high.

Medvedev had to dig deep to oust wildcard and former Rotterdam champion Stan Wawrinka in the first round. Wawrinka won the first set via a tiebreaker, but Medvedev would hold him to five games in the next two sets.

Medvedev is a former Rotterdam champion himself. He triumphed here in 2023 and has made it to at least the quarter-finals three times.

A 20-time tour champion, Medvedev had a poor campaign at the Australian Open, where he lost in the second round. He had made the final the season prior.
