A top clash at the BNP Paribas Open featuring seeded players is on the cards in the third round. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Matteo Berrettini are set to clash in what will be their seventh career meeting. We have the preview and a prediction for the match below.

World number 28 Matteo Berrettini will be looking to slow Tsitsipas’ dominance in this fixture. The Italian trails 5-1 from their previous meetings.

Heading into the match, Berrettini warmed up with a win over Christopher O’Connell in straight sets. That was his third win in four matches, with the only defeat in that period having been served by Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas registered his fifth win against Berrettini in the Dubai quarter-finals. He went on to win the title, his first of the season, after beating Felix Auger-Aliassime.

With a first round bye, Tsitsipas started his Indian Wells charge with a straight-set win over Thiago Seyboth Wild. That was his sixth straight win and will power his confidence going into this tricky match.

While his numbers over Berrettini seem lopsided, the scores state otherwise, Tsitsipas had only two wins via straight sets, and both needed a tiebreaker.

After only reaching the quarters at Indian Wells, Tsitsipas will hope to do better this time.
