Matteo Berrettini vs Lorenzo Sonego Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Grand Prix Hassan II

We're guaranteed an Italian player in the last four of the Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakech. Unseeded Matteo Berrettini takes on the fourth seed Lorenzo Sonego in the last eight of this clay court tournament. Potential opponents in the next round include second seed Sebastian Ofner and seventh seeded Mariano Navone. Surprisingly, this is the first time these two players have met on a clay court. Berrettini leads Sonego 4-1 in previous meetings but the last three have all been played on grass. Berrettini beat Sonego in four sets at Wimbledon last year. The 27-year-old has again had injury problems this year and this is only his third tournament in 2024. One Challenger Tour final has already been reached but that was on a hard court. He was 135th in the last ranking list but now up to 117th after beating Alexander Shevchenko and Jaume Munar. He needed three sets to win the latter of those two matches.

Lorenzo Sonego is hoping to achieve something here he hasn't managed all year. It's April and the world number 61 still hasn't won two successive matches in a tournament in 2024. At the start of this tournament he was outside the top 100 in the Live ATP Race but now up to 84th. His one match so far saw him have to come from behind to get past unseeded Sumit Nagal. He's now 56th in the live rankings and can move up to 51st if winning this match. Berrettini looks to be in the best form of the two though and can win this match.
