As every day goes by, the chances of Rafael Nadal winning the US Open title seem to improve. Recent matches have produced the exits of both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Nadal has been in good form in this tournament and is yet to drop a set. This year has seen Nadal lose in the Australian Open final, win the French Open and be defeated in the Wimbledon semi-final. Not since the 2018 Australian Open has he failed to reach at least the semi-final of a Grand Slam.In the last six Grand Slams, in matches that didn't see him retire injured (which is what he did at this stage in the US Open last year), only Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have beaten him.

Matteo Berrettini hasn't got anywhere near such an impressive record. This is his first time past the fourth round in a Grand Slam event  (Wimbledon 2019) and before this tournament, he'd failed to get past the third round in any Masters tournament.  In fact, his first round win here this year was the first time he'd won a main draw match at Flushing Meadow. He's gone from losing in the second qualifying round in 2017 to a US Open semi-final. It wasn't until the quarter final that he actually met a seeded player. Berrettini defeat the 13th seed Gael Monfils in five sets. So far in this tournament, he has lost sets in three of his five matches.  Back Nadal to win this match in straight sets, so go for under 3.5 sets.
