Sixth seed Matteo Berrettini will battle qualifier Quentin Halys for the title in Gstaad. Berrettini defeated top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas while Halys ousted fifth seed Jan-Lennard Struff in the semis. This is the second meeting between these two and here we look at the numbers and a prediction for the match.

Berrettini has maintained his superb record at Gstaad by advancing to his third final in as many attempts. The Italian is seeking his second title, having triumphed here on his debut in 2018 then finished as runner-up two years ago.

In a highlight of a superb year, Berrettini defeated Tsitsipas in straight sets. He is yet to drop a set in this year’s edition which is similar to his debut winning campaign. Getting to the final has moved him back to the ATP top 60. He is now placed 58th in the live ranking.

Quentin Halys is having a historic campaign as it is the first time he has progressed to a tour final. The Frenchman started his debut here in the qualifying rounds and after his semi-final success, he has won six matches in a row.

Halys defeated Struff in straight sets to earn his fourth 2-0 victory in this tournament. He has now compiled a 26-17 record and has registered 13 of his wins on clay. Reaching the final has catapulted him a massive 67 places in the live ranking.

The former world number 61 is now placed 125th. Halys has often struggled when involved in a championship match, a matter he will be pressed to change. In 26 total finals competing in the ITF and Challenger circuits, he has been defeated 14 times.
