It's six years since Matteo Berrettini last played in Marrakech. He's back this week and faces seventh seed Mariano Navone for a place in the final. The Grand Prix Hassan II is an outdoor clay court tournament. For the winner of this match there's a final against either defending champion (but unseeded) Roberto Carballes Baena or unseeded Pavel Kotov. Berrettini is a former top ten player and got to the last eight at Roland Garros three years ago. His career of late has been blighted by injury and illness. This is only his third tournament of the year but he's attempting to reach his second final. The other was a Challenger Tour hard court event. Ranked 135th in the latest list, the Italian is up to 107th in the live rankings and a win here will take him back into the top 100. He's reached the last four for the loss of one set to Jaume Munar in round two. Friday saw him beat the fourth seed Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets.

Mariano Navone is attempting to reach his second clay court final of the year. He got to the title decider in Rio but lost to Sebastian Baez. He was 60th when this ATP 250 event got underway and is now up to a new career high 51st. He beat Cameron Norrie and Yannick Hanfmann in Rio and has continued his good form in Marrakech. Navone has also dropped one set so far in this tournament. That was when having to come from a set down to get past Stan Wawrinka in round two. We go for Berrettini to get the win.
