Matteo Berrettini has reached the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open and meet eighth seed Jack Draper. The winner of the second career meeting will play Carlos Alcaraz or Jiri Lehecka in the semi-finals. Below is our prediction for this match.

Matteo Berrettini has progressed for the first time past the second round in Doha. The Italian, returning to this event after six years, defeated Tallon Griekspoor in three sets to end his second-round hoodoo.

His third win in six outings this season lasted for two hours and 27 minutes. Berrettini is having an inconsistent season and is only now winning back-to-back matches. Moving into the last eight has bumped the former world number six up to 30th in the live ranking.

Jack Draper defeated Berrettini to lift the Boss Open last season. He clawed his way from a first-set loss to win his maiden tour title.

That feat will be fresh in his mind as he seeks to prolong his stay in this event. Draper is making his Doha debut and has been in superb form. The Brit, who has won five of six matches this season, is yet to drop a set this week.

He defeated Alexei Popyrin in the first round and then the qualifier Christopher O’Connell. Against O’Connell, Draper relinquished just three games.

Advancing to this round has allowed him to move up to 15th in the live ranking and tie his career best.
