Matteo Berrettini vs Hubert Hurkacz Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Wimbledon Championships

It'd be a rather special day on Sunday for Italians if Matteo Berrettini can win Wimbledon and Italy won Euro 2020. The latter is more likely to happen but Berrettini can make it to his first Grand Slam final if beating Hubert Hurkacz in this semi-final. He'd make history as no Italian has previously played in a men's singles final at Wimbledon. Berrettini warmed up for this event with a title win at the cinch Championships grass court event in London. Before that he had got to the final of the ATP Cup with Italy and won a clay court tournament in Belgrade. This is his best performance at Wimbledon, his previous best being a fourth round. His serve is proving to be a key asset and he's only dropped two sets on his way to this semi-final. One was in the opening round against Guido Pella, the other when beating Felix-Auger Aliassime in the last eight. He's only had one previous match against Hurkacz, he won that at the 2018 Australian Open.

Hubert Hurkacz began this year ranked 34th. He's up to 11th after his efforts at Wimbledon this year and can get into the top ten if beating Berrettini. To show what a good year the Pole has had, he's eighth in the ATP Live Race, so could be heading to Italy for the Tour Finals at the end of 2021. He's already won the Delray Beach Open and Miami Masters this year. The latter saw him beat one top player after another with Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev his two biggest scalps. His form dipped a bit after that tournament but he's back to his best here with wins over Daniil Medvedev and Roger Federer. This is tough to predict but a bet on over 36.5 games looks a winner. Have a side bet on a tie-break and it may well be Hurkacz who gets to the final, some in-play betting would be a good idea to judge the form of both players.
