The big question here is just how fit is Matteo Berrettini. He takes on Hubert Hurkacz in his second group match at the ATP Tour Finals. Both players lost their first match but for Berrettini, it was a more serious situation. He lost the first set to Alexander Zverev but then had to retire after one match of the second due to an abdominal injury. That went down as a straight sets defeat for Berrettini but with the format of this tournament, he lives to fight another day. He had played well to take Zverev to a first set tie-break. Recent form has seen him fail to reach a semi-final since he lost to Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. Berrettini has had three previous meetings with Hurkacz, winning two and losing the other.
Hubert Hurkacz is also in a must-win situation. His first match in this group saw him lose in three sets to Daniil Medvedev. He won the first set on a tie-break but the world number two recovered well. It was a strong effort though and Hurkacz will be out to win this match ahead of his final game against Zverev. Hurkacz is in good form after reaching the semi-finals of the Paris Masters in his previous tournament. With doubts over the fitness of his opponent, back Hurkacz to get the win.
