Second seed Daniil Medvedev will on Wednesday begin his Canadian Open campaign with a second-round meeting with Matteo Arnaldi. The winner here will play either 16th seed Lorenzo Musetti or the qualifier Thanasi Kokkinakis in the third round. Matteo Arnaldi has been in excellent form in Toronto where he has won all his three fixtures without dropping a set. Daniil Medvedev defeated Arnaldi in the first round on his way to winning the Dubai 500 series in February. This was the first ever encounter between the two and he will be confident of extending his advantage. The Russian is back on the court after a three-week break.
