Third seed Andrey Rublev takes on unseeded Matteo Arnaldi in round two of the hard court Erste Open. For the winner there's a quarter final match against either fifth seed Alexander Zverev or unseeded Cameron Norrie. Rublev was ranked fifth and is only just behind Jannik Sinner in fourth place. He's also fifth in the Live ATP Race and just a couple of wins away from securing his place in the end-of-season Tour Finals. Rublev is in good form at present and got to the final of the Shanghai Masters in his last tournament. He beat four top 35 ranked players before being beaten by Hubert Hurkacz in the final. Before that the Russian reached the last eight of the US Open as he continued his good form on hard courts. The first round of this tournament saw him get a straight sets win over Alexei Popyrin.

Matteo Arnaldi was in 46th position at the start of this Erste Open. The Italian is up to 41st after his first round victory over qualifier Albert Ramos Vinolas and that's a new career high. It wasn't an easy win though with both sets being determined by a tie-break. A victory over Rublev will see him in his first ATP Tour hard court quarter final. He has reached a Challenger Tour final on this surface but most of his success has been on clay courts. Arnaldi did get to the fourth round of the US Open but with Rublev in good form at present, we go for him to win this match in straight sets.
