Who will meet fourth seed Alexander Bublik in the second round of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open? It'll be the winner of this match between Marton Fucsovics and Roberto Bautista Agut, both of whom are unseeded. Fucsovics is 80th in the live rankings which is 17 places higher than his Spanish opponent. In the Live ATP Race (based on points earned this year), Fucsovics is only 176th after winning just one of his five matches played this year. The Hungarians only win has been the one he had against compatriot Fabian Marozsan in the Rotterdam tournament last week. He then lost to Grigor Dimitrov for the second time this year. He's 3-2 down in previous matches against Agut. The Spaniard beat him in this tournament last year and all but one of their matches has been played on a hard court, the surface for this match.

Roberto Bautista Agut has been as high as ninth in the world rankings but is well below that level now. The 35-year-old has been getting better results than his opponent this year. He started 2024 with a run to the last eight in Hong Kong where he lost to Sebastian Ofner. That was the first of three successive losses and that included losing to Ben Shelton in the first round of the Australian Open. He got back into winning ways with a win over Richard Gasquet in Marseille but since then has lost twice and failed to qualify for the Rotterdam main draw last week. We tip Fucsovics to get the win.
