Martina Trevisan vs Leylah Annie Fernandez Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

Only once before has Leylah Fernandez got past the third round of a Grand Slam. That saw her go onto lose in the US Open final last year and now she's in the quarter finals at Roland Garros. Her chances of making another final are looking good as she's the highest seed in the bottom half of the draw. First though, the Canadian has to get past the unseeded Italian Martina Trevisan. Fernandez hasn't been in top form this year on clay and had failed to get past the last 32 od any event until this French Open. Fernandez is up to 14th in the rankings and making the last eight will see her rise to 12th. The first two rounds at Roland Garros saw her beat Kristina Mladenovic and Katerina Siniakova, both in straight sets. That's been followed by two three-setters but the 14th seed Belinda Bencic and 27th seeded Amanda Anisimova have both been beaten.

Her opponent is in her second quarter final at Roland Garros. Clay seems to suit her as Trevisan is yet to get past the second round of any other Grand Slam event. When this tournament began, the Italian was ranked 59th but she's now 31st in the live rankings. The Italian will be in the top 30 if getting past Fernandez and reaching her first Grand Slam semi-final. Trevisan has won one tournament this year, a WTA 250 series event in Rabat with the highest ranked player being Garbine Muguruza who isn't having a good year at all. Wins at Roland Garros have come against Harriet Dart, Magda Linette, Daria Saville and Aliaksandra Sasnovich. No sets have been lost but this is her first match against a seeded player. Fernandez will be tough to beat and the tip is for her to make the semi-final against either Coco Gauff or Sloane Stephens.
