Marta Kostyuk will hope to continue with her exciting Wimbledon start when she battles fellow unseeded player Paula Badosa on Friday. Winning this second-round tie will set up a showdown with either 25th seed Madison Keys or the qualifier Viktorija Golubic next. Marta Kostyuk produced one of the shocks of the first round when she upset eighth seed Maria Sakkari in three sets. The Ukrainian came back from falling 6-0 in the first set to win the match and secure her first win on grass this year. She has now won 19 of the 32 matches she has played and has moved up one place to 35th on the live ranking. Kostyuk won the first Singles tour title of her career in March when she won the inaugural ATX Open. She has lost all three encounters with Badosa. But as she is a decent performer on grass, she will hope to halt this one-sided affair here.

Paula Badosa is making her season debut on grass at Wimbledon. She dropped six games as she defeated Alison Riske-Amritraj in the first round. This was her 18th win of the season and bumped her three places to 32nd in the live ranking. The Spaniard has never lost a second-round match here. She will hope to keep this record as she targets to make the second week of competition for the third successive time. Badosa has won every match that she and Kostyuk have contested with the latest being a third-round tie in Rome this season. This however will be their first encounter on grass.
