Marketa Vondrousova vs Katerina Siniakova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Cincinnati Open

Tenth seeded Marketa Vondrousova takes on fellow Czech Katerina Siniakova in the Western & Southern Open first round. Waiting for the winner in round two of this outdoor hard court tournament are either Anastasia Potapova or wild card Celine Naef. Vondrousa hasn't set the world alight since winning the Wimbledon title. This is the last tournament before the US Open so she'll be keen to have a deep run in Cincinnati. That wasn't the case in Montreal last week when losing to Coco Gauff in the third round. Vondrousova only won three games and all in the first set. The 24-year-old was unseeded when winning the Wimbledon title but is now raked tenth in the world. That Grand Slam was won on grass but now it's back to hard courts and this year has seen her only get past the last 16 on this surface on two occasions. Her best performance was reaching the last four in Linz.

Katerina Siniakova is 47th in the live rankings and had a poor Montreal tounament. The Czech lost in the first round to 15th seeded Liudmila Samsonova after winning the first set. Only five games were won by her in the next two. Siniakova may well be the number one ranked doubles player in the world but it's not going well for her in singles. The loss to Samsonova was her third straight defeat. Before her loss in Montreal, Siniakova exited in the first round in Warsaw, beaten by Heather Watson who was ranked 146th at the time. One hard court semi-final has been reached this year and a grass court tournament in Bad Homburg was won. This is her second match against her compatriot. The only other meeting saw Siniakova win and only drop two games. However, that was played five years ago when Siniakova was the second seed in Wuhan and Vondrousova only tenth.
