Marin Cilic vs Juan Martín Del Potro Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Juan Martin del Potro is seeded fifth for this tournament but he's the favourite to beat the third seed Marin Cilic and make it through to the semi-finals of the French Open. The Argentinian dropped a set in the first round of this tournament but has won the next three rounds without losing a set and that included a fourth round straight sets win over John Isner.  The fifth seed hasn't reached the last four here since 2009 when losing a five-set match to Roger Federer after leading 2-1. Another quarter final appearance came in 2012 but then he missed the tournament for the next four years. Last year he made his comeback and reached the third round but has a great chance of reaching the last four this year and that'd be his second Grand Slam semi-final in the last three tournaments after reaching the last four of the US Open last year.  He's already having a good year with a big win at Indian Wells beating Federer in the final. 

He takes on the third seed Marin Cilic who has dropped three sets in this tournament. In the fourth round he beat Fabio Foginini by three sets to two. He won the first two sets then dropped the next two before winning the final set 6-3. This is only the second time he's reached the quarter finals at the French Open. The first time was last year when losing to Stan Wawrinka in straight sets. He reached the semi-final in Rome this year but has struggled in the past when taking on del Potro. The Argentinian leads their head to head by 10 matches to 2 and has won the last seven with Cilic last beating him seven years ago. On clay, del Potro has won all four of their meetings and never dropped a set. He can maintain that record here, so go for del Potro to reach the last four and a likely meeting with Rafael Nadal.
