Top seed Maria Bouzkova has proved the ranking experts right at the Copa Colsanitas in Bogota, making her way through to the final, only dropping one set on the way. Her 6-4, 7-6(2) semi-final victory over eighth seed Kamilla Rakhimova followed on from wins over seventh seed Laura Siegemund (QF), Hailey Baptiste (R2) and Rebecca Marino (R1). She started the tournament ranked 42nd but now has a live ranking of 35th. She has been especially impressive on her serve in this tournament, landing 14 aces winning 72% of her first serves and holding 83% of her service games. If that kind of consistency continues, she is going to be incredibly difficult to beat here.

Camila Osorio is a former Champion of this tournament (winning in 2021). The sixth seed has certainly not had the easiest route to the final. Wins over qualifier Marina Stakusic, Anca Todoni and then 2022 and 2023 Champion in Bogota Tatjana Maria in the 1st, 2nd and quarterfinal rounds, were followed with an impressive 7-6(4), 6-4 win over the veteran Italian Sara Errani. Her live ranking has seen her move up from 85th to 73rd in the rankings and she is the clay specialist of the two players, as well as having home support. She has lost heavily both times she has played Bouzkova previously, but this will be her first match against the Czech top seed on her preferred clay court.
