Emma Raducanu continues with her tour return and will battle unseeded Marie Bouzkova in Abu Dhabi next. The two will square off in the first round with the winner advancing to play second seed Ons Jabuer. Marie Bouzkova is having a shaky start to the year and has won three and lost three of six outings. She has lost her last two matches and is coming off a first-round exit at the Australian Open. The 25-year-old had a strong finish to last season as she won 12 of her final 17 matches. For a brief moment, she started 2024 with the same form and won three of her first four fixtures. She has regressed and will be hoping to find her groove back. Her recent slump has affected her rise up the WTA standings. She is now down two places to 36th place in the live ranking.

Emma Raducanu is set to play her fifth match of the season. She has had a wobbly start to the year and this was expected after being out for quite some time. The Brit was out for 10 months as a result of injury and before this year, had last played a competitive match last April. She has won two of her four matches and is coming off a second-round elimination at the Australian Open. The former world number 10 dropped out of the WTA top 300 due to her absence from the court. She is slowly climbing up the rankings and is now ranked 295th in the live ranking. Raducanu is making her Abu Dhabi debut.
