Marie Bouzkova vs Anastasia Potapova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Indian Wells

Anastasia Potapova, 28th seed, begins her Indian Wells campaign in the second round and will play unseeded Marie Bouzkova. Bouzkova lost in this round in last year’s edition, failing to equal her best result of a third-round finish. Having never lost to Potapova, the Czech player will be confident of getting this done here. Bouzkova has won both previous encounters with Potapova, one of which was a title decider in Prague two seasons ago. The 25-year-old, who is making her fourth appearance in this event, is having a slow season. She has compiled a 5-6 record with all 11 matches taking place on hard courts. Bouzkova however did begin her tournament in splendid form, losing just two games against Sara Sorribes Tormo in the first round. The win has allowed her to move up two places in the live ranking and is now placed at number 38.

Anastasia Potapova is defending 65 points earned in her run to the third round last season. This was her best-ever result here in what was only her second appearance. As she is having a better season than Bouzkova, the Russian will be confident of progressing here. Potapova has won seven of the 12 matches she has contested and has produced quarterfinal finishes in Linz and Brisbane. Five of her wins have come on hard courts but so too have four of her defeats. The 22-year-old was last on the court in Dubai where she lost in the third round. This was two weeks ago and the rest should have reenergized her. She begins her tournament having dropped one place in the live ranking to 34th. The winner from this encounter will set up a third-round showdown with either Elena Rybakina or Nadia Podoroska.
