Mariano Navone vs Yannick Hanfmann Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Rio Open

Qualifier Mariano Navone has to beat unseeded Yannick Hanfmann to reach the Rio Open quarter finals. Whoever wins this match will face either seventh seed Arthur Fils, wild card Joao Fonesca or unseeded Cristian Garin. Navone began this tournament ranked a career high 113th but his run to the second round in Rio has set a new one. He's made it into the top 100 for the first time in his career and is now at 93rd at the time of writing this preview. Navone won both of his qualifying matches without dropping a set. That took him into the main draw and a first round match against unseeded Federico Coria. He only won one game in the first set but won the next two for the loss of only six. That was his first ATP Tour main draw victory of the year.

Yannick Hanfmann was ranked 56th at the start of this clay court tournament. He beat the third seed Nicolas Jarry in three sets (losing the middle one) to continue the good recent form he's shown on clay. It was a tough match with him winning the first set 6-1 but losing the second by the same score. He then won the deciding set 7-5 to progress. Hanfmann got to the last eight in Cordoba recently and is now one win away from a second. The German is up to 49th in the live rankings and that's only four behind his career high achieved last July. This is his first match against Navone and we tip him to win it.
