Nuno Borges looks to continue his good recent form at the Paris Olympics. His first round match sees him take on Mariano Navone. Read our prediction to find out who we believe will face either 11th seed Lorenzo Musetti or unseeded Gael Monfils.

Borges is hoping to give Portugal some success at these Games. He recently won the clay court tournament held in Bastad. Borges didn't beat anyone ranked in the top 100 but in the final he did defeat a certain Rafael Nadal.

The 27-year-old was ranked 42nd in the latest ranking list and is making his Olympic debut. He'll be at home on the clay of Roland Garros where this tournament is being played. However he will hope to do better than when losing to Thomas Machac in the first round of this year's French Open.

Better form was shown when getting to the last 16 in Estoril and Rome and the quarter-finals of a Challenger Tour event held in Cagliari.. He's had success on lower tours with six titles being won.

Mariano Navone was just above his opponent at 36th in the latest rankings. The Argentinian was as high as 29th last month and began this year down in 125th place. He's had a busy year on the South American and European clay court seasons.

In Rio, he made it through the qualifiers and won seven matches before losing to Sebastian Baez in the final. He followed that up with a run to the last four in Marrakech and another final in Bucharest. A Challenger Tour title was won in Cagliari.

His form dipped though and he also lost to Machac at the French Open in the second round. All three of his grass court matches were lost and it hasn't gone too well for him back on clay. He lost to Nadal in Bastad and then in straight sets to Flavio Cobolli in Umag. We tip Borges to win this match.
