Fourth seeded Maria Sakkari takes on wild card Tereza Martincova in the last eight of the Ostrava Open. Sakkari began this week ranked 12th in the world, her highest ever position. No titles have been won by the Greek player this year but it's been an important year for her. Semi-finals have been reached at both the French Open and the recent US Open. Before this year, she'd never made it past the fourth round. This is her first tournament since the US Open, where she beat Karolina Pliskova, Bianca Andreescu and Petra Kvitova before being beaten by Emma Raducanu. Her one match in this tournament has seen her get a straight sets win over Jelena Ostapenko.

Tereza Martincova was the world number 61 at the beginning of this tournament. In the live rankings, the Czech is up to 53rd, a career high. It's been an up and down year for the 26-year-old. There have been plenty of early exits but some good performances too. Those include two last eight appearances on grass in England and a run to the final of the Prague Open. This week, Martincova had to come from behind to beat Katerina Sianakova in the first round but then she beat fifth seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in two sets both won by tie-breaks. Martincova has lost both of her previous matches against Sakkari. The most recent one was last year with Sakkari winning in three sets, the other was way back in 2015. Back Sakkari to win this, a side bet on a tie-break may well be a winning one.
